It seems that after the massive amount of flack thrown GM's way since the release of the documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car?" the automaking giant has finally responded. At the 2007 North American International Auto Show, GM unveiled their VOLT concept, which will run primarily from Li-Ion battery packs that are charged by a small internal combustion engine. Not exactly as clean as the EV-1, even though GM claims it makes up for that car's shortcomings. (What shortcomings?) According to a report from Reuters, The VOLT could be ready for production in two or three years, "if the technology is ready."
